extracorporeal shockwave therapy

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) offers a non-invasive, safe, fast, reliable and effective and drug-free treatment for chronic animal injuries such as spinal issues, degenerative joints, osteoarthritis, tendonitis and many more conditions.

It provides both analgesic and therapeutic benefits to add onto the animal's rehabilitation treatment as an integrative modality to improve the effects of therapy and impressively decreasing the healing time.

Benefits of Shockwave therapy:

  • Increase in cell permeability

  • Stimulation of microcirculation (blood, lymph)

  • Reduction of non-myelinated nerve fibers

  • Release of nitric oxid(NO), which leads to vasodilation, increased metabolic activity and angiogenesis and hasan anti-inflammatory effectRelease of growth hormones (blood vessels, epithelium, bones, collagen, etc.)

  • Stimulation of stem cells and neurons (neural spiking)Almost immediate or rapid reduction for pain relief and long-term management with analgesic effect

  • Accelerated healing process

  • No side effects

  • Does not require sedation or anaesthesia

  • Fast results in 3-5 treatments (the average treatment for injuries is completed in 6-10 sessions depending on condition)

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Hip dysplasia

  • Elbow dysplasia

  • Chronic spinal issue – relief of muscle pain due to spondylosis,  invertebrate disk disease, and lumbosacral instability

  • Osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD)

  • Osteoporosis
  • Tendon and ligament injuries

  • Tendonitis

  • Fractures (delayed-healing)

  • Cruciate ligament injury – post surgery and/or and may also assist dogs with partial tears to improve without the need for surgery together with laser therapy and therpautic ultrasound

  • Tendinopathy

  • Cauda equina syndrome

  • Muscle treatment (trigger points, tensed muscles

  • Scar tissue

Frequency of treatments to be determined by Rehab Practitioners according to individual condition on respective sites. Suitable for animals of all ages.

MASTERPULS MP100 VET »ultra« from Storz Medical

Gaia Wholistic Animal Wellness is the first and only Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Singapore to carry MASTERPULS MP100 VET »ultra« from Storz Medical.

We are happy to be able to provide more healing modalities to chronic and painful conditions.

Radial Shock Wave Therapy (RSWT) is a technique whereby shockwaves are produced pneumatically. Using compressed air, a bullet is sent through a guide tube at high velocity, causing it to hit a transmitter and generating acoustic waves that are faster than the speed of sound.

Shock waves accelerate the healing process in the body by increasing metabolism and the growth of new vessels; healing damaged soft tissue. It is absolutely non invasive, safe, non painful and does not require any form of sedation.

It will strictly be administered safely by only trained rehab animal practitioners/personnel.
